Engagement Rings & Bespoke Design

Q: How does the bespoke design process work?

Our bespoke process begins with a private consultation where we discuss your vision, style preferences, and budget. We then create detailed sketches and 3D renderings for your approval. Once the design is finalised, our master craftsmen handcraft your piece using ethically sourced materials. The entire process typically takes 6-8 weeks, though timelines can be adjusted for special occasions.

Q: How long does it take to create a bespoke engagement ring?

A bespoke engagement ring typically takes 6-8 weeks from initial consultation to completion. This includes design consultations, CAD rendering, your approval, sourcing the perfect stones, and handcrafting the ring. Rush services are available for proposals with shorter timelines.

Q: Can I customise an existing design?

Absolutely! Many clients start with one of our existing designs and personalise it with different metals, gemstones, or design details. This is often faster than creating a fully bespoke piece while still resulting in a unique ring.

Q: What's the difference between bespoke and customisation?

Customisation involves modifying an existing design (changing the metal, stone size, or specific details), while bespoke means creating an entirely new design from scratch based on your vision. Both options ensure you get a unique piece tailored to you.

Q: Do you offer engagement ring consultations?

Yes, we offer complimentary consultations either in person or virtually. During the consultation, we'll discuss your style, budget, and preferences, and guide you through the design process.

Q: Can I see my ring design before it's made?

Yes! We provide detailed sketches and photorealistic 3D CAD renderings of your design before we begin crafting. You'll have the opportunity to request revisions until you're completely satisfied.

Q: What if I don't know what style I want?

That's perfectly normal! We will guide you through the process, showing you different styles, discussing your lifestyle and preferences, and helping you discover what resonates with you. We're here to make the process enjoyable and stress-free.

Diamonds & Gemstones

Q: Do you use natural or lab-grown diamonds?

We offer both natural and lab-grown diamonds, allowing you to choose based on your values and budget. Both options are of exceptional quality, and we're transparent about the origin of every stone we source.

Q: What's the difference between natural and lab-grown diamonds?

Natural diamonds are formed over billions of years deep within the Earth, while lab-grown diamonds are created in controlled laboratory environments using advanced technology. They are chemically, physically, and optically identical. The main differences are origin, environmental impact, and price—lab-grown diamonds typically cost 30-40% less.

Q: Are your diamonds ethically sourced?

Yes, absolutely. We are committed to ethical sourcing and only work with suppliers who adhere to the Kimberley Process and provide full traceability. Our lab-grown diamonds offer a conflict-free alternative, and all our natural diamonds come with certification verifying their ethical origin.

Q: What diamond certifications do you provide?

All our diamonds come with certification from internationally recognised gemological laboratories such as GIA (Gemological Institute of America), IGI (International Gemological Institute), or HRD. These certificates verify the diamond's quality, including the 4Cs (cut, clarity, colour, and carat).

Q: Can I choose my own diamond?

Yes! We can source specific diamonds based on your preferences for the 4Cs, shape, and budget. We'll present you with certified options and help you select the perfect stone for your ring.

Q: Do you offer coloured gemstones?

Yes, we work with a wide range of precious gemstones including sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and more. Coloured gemstone engagement rings are increasingly popular and offer a unique, personal touch.

Q: What are the 4Cs of diamonds?

The 4Cs are Cut, Clarity, Colour, and Carat—the four factors that determine a diamond's quality and value. Cut refers to how well the diamond is shaped and faceted, Clarity measures internal flaws, Colour grades the absence of colour (with D being colourless), and Carat indicates the diamond's weight. We have a comprehensive guide on our blog to help you understand each factor.

Metals & Materials

Q: What metals do you work with?

We work with platinum, 18K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold, and can create mixed-metal designs. Also, design in 9K or 14K gold. Each metal has unique properties, and we'll help you choose the best option for your lifestyle and aesthetic preferences.

Q: What's the difference between platinum and white gold?

Platinum is a naturally white, dense, and durable metal that doesn't require rhodium plating and develops a beautiful patina over time. White gold is an alloy of gold mixed with white metals, rhodium-plated for a bright white finish. Platinum is more expensive but extremely durable, while white gold offers excellent value and may require occasional re-plating to maintain its bright white appearance.

Q: Will my white gold ring need maintenance?

White gold rings are rhodium-plated to achieve their bright white finish. Over time (typically 1-3 years depending on wear), this plating may wear thin and the ring may appear slightly yellowish. We offer complimentary re-plating services to restore the original lustre.

Q: Can I mix metals in one ring?

Yes! Mixed-metal designs are a beautiful trend. We can combine rose gold, yellow gold, white gold, and platinum in a single piece to create depth, contrast, and a unique aesthetic.

Pricing & Payment

Q: How much does a bespoke engagement ring cost? A: Bespoke engagement ring prices vary based on the design complexity, metal choice, and gemstones selected. Our rings typically start from £2,000 and can range upwards depending on your specifications. During your consultation, we'll work within your budget to create something beautiful and meaningful.

Q: Do you offer payment plans or financing?

Yes offer interest-free payment plans or work with financing partners like Klarna

Q: Is there a deposit required for bespoke work?

Yes, we require a 50% deposit to begin the bespoke design process, with the balance due upon completion and before delivery.

Q: Do your prices include VAT?

Yes, all prices displayed on our website include UK VAT at the current rate.

Ring Sizing & Fit

Q: How do I know my ring size?

We offer several options: visit us in person for professional sizing, use our downloadable ring size guide to measure at home, or order a complimentary ring sizer to be posted to you. Accurate sizing is important, and we're happy to help you get it right.

Q: What if my ring doesn't fit?

We offer the resize with additional cost (for rings that can be resized). Some designs with intricate details or full eternity bands cannot be resized, which we'll discuss during the design process.

Q: Can all rings be resized?

Most rings can be resized up or down by 1-2 sizes. However, eternity bands, rings with stones set all the way around, and certain intricate designs cannot be resized. We'll advise you during the design process if your chosen style has resizing limitations.

Yes! We can design wedding bands that perfectly complement your engagement ring, whether you want a matching set or coordinating styles. Many clients choose to design both rings together to ensure a seamless fit.

Q: Can my wedding band sit flush against my engagement ring?

Yes, we can design your wedding band to fit perfectly against your engagement ring, even if it has a unique shape or setting. This is called a "fitted" or "contoured" wedding band.
